Average Cost of Wedding Flowers in 2024

Anyone out there feel like wedding flowers are a little mysterious to budget for?

When I was I getting married, I wasn’t a florist yet. I remember finding it so hard to get transparent pricing information on flowers! Now as a professional wedding and event florist serving Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, I completely understand why! The price really does depend on each individual design plan. There is no way to clearly show every option on our website because your wedding is going to be a one of a kind event, those flowers have never been created exactly like that and they will never be recreated exactly like that again!

BUT, I still want try and shed a little light on flower pricing for you (specifically how we price our flowers) so you can better prep your wedding planning budget!

I am writing this in January 2024, prices were different in blog posts from previous years and they’ll be different in future years – My views on money and costs have also changed drastically over the past year! Where I stand now: Money doesn’t die when you spend it, it simply flows to another person or business who will distribute it into different areas of their life and it will flow to the next people, and the cycle goes on! Thinking about it that way has 100% motivated me to direct my shopping towards local and small businesses who will flow the money in our community.

Okay, now onto the flowers!

What Are Most Couples Paying for their Custom Wedding Flowers?

From my perspective and the opinions of a few others in the wedding industry, most couples are spending around $6,000-$10,000 on their flowers in 2024.

Yes, many people spend more than that and some will spend less – but out of all of the price quotes we’ve been creating over the past few months $6,000 with $10,000 being the top of the “average” budget range are definitely the numbers popping up the most, and seems to be the average amount allotted to flowers when creating a wedding budget.

That typically covers a primary or bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, some type of ceremony florals or installation (size and complexity will vary based on where you fall in that price range) , and simple centrepieces or bud vases for the reception! Don’t forget that it doesn’t only include your stunning, custom wedding florals – it also includes professional set up and clean up at the venue!

Something to remember: You get what you pay for, not only in the quality of the product but the quality of customer care and experience. For many people, flowers will be the thing they are most excited to plan because wedding planning is their only opportunity to curate and choose custom florals, and they know how impactful they are in customizing a space! And for some people, flowers aren’t something they particularly have any feelings or thoughts about at all.  Whichever person you are, I encourage you to find the fun in the planning – you’ll get to see and hold flowers that you’ve never even heard of before!
